Site suitability for agriculture from barren land using remote sensing and GIS

نویسندگان

چکیده

In recent days, the land area utilized for agriculture is getting reduced day to due rapid urbanization. The main objective of work identify barren/unused lands that can be used purpose using remote sensing and geographic information system, so there will not losses improper site selection. suitability was assessed on five criteria; type soil, climate, slope percentage, rainfall wells distribution. different geospatial layers were transferred generate maps rainfed irrigated areas by weighted overlay method. Land analysis paves way derive crop cultivated based criteria (mentioned above). Initiating in Erode district Tamil Nadu India, whose administrative headquarters located at city Main source income from sector. Total cropped 1,37,625 hectares (23.89% total area) forest 2294.46 sq.km (2019).

Mapping of Agriculture Drought using Remote Sensing and GIS

Agriculture drought occurs when moisture level in soils is insufficient to maintain average crop yields. Initial consequences are in the reduced seasonal output of crops & other related production. An extreme agricultural drought can lead to a famine, which is a prolonged shortage of food in a restricted region causing widespread diseases and deaths from starvation. Agriculture drought is mainl...

Simulation and prediction of land use and land cover change using GIS, remote sensing and CA-Markov model

This study analyzes the characteristics of land use/land cover change in Jordan’s Irbid governorate, 1984–2018, and predicts future land use/land cover for 2030 and 2050 using a cellular automata-Markov model. The results inform planners and decision makers of past and current spatial dynamics of land use/land cover change and predicted urban expansion, for a better understanding and successful...
